Description from Old Sturbridge Village site: " Overmantel panel comprised of 2 boards joined horizontally; the center of the panel is framed by a bevel, painted green. Top panel is painted as sky; bottom panel holds scene. Center of scene is a Georgian house, cream colored, with hipped roof, double chimneys, pedimented door, five windows on second floor, four on first. A white picket fence stands in front of the house with a central pathway and flanking rows of trees (poplars?). An English barn with arcaded addition sits to left, painted cream with white trim, another barn (blue) further left. What might be a sawmill is seen behind a hill to the right. Various animals in landscape including sheep, horses, cows, and a dog chasing a giant pig. Foreground populated with male and female figures (dressed circa 1790) sitting under trees playing music and conversing."
